Rebecca Mallory, Founder of Community Safe Haven

Rebecca Mallory

Founder & Executive Director, Community Safe Haven

With a lifetime dedicated to special education, Rebecca Mallory founded Community Safe Haven to fill a critical gap in services for special needs adults in Loudoun County. Her journey began in the classroom, where she spent years working directly with students who needed more than traditional programs could offer.

Rebecca saw firsthand how families struggled to find safe, enriching environments for their adult children — places that went beyond basic care to actually teach, engage, and uplift. Community Safe Haven is the answer to that need: a place where every adult is seen, valued, and given the tools to thrive.

“Every person deserves a safe place to learn and grow. That is not just our mission — it is my life's calling.”

Calling All Volunteers — We Need You!

We truly can't do what we do without the help of our community.

At Community Safe Haven, our days are filled with learning, laughter, and real-life experiences for adults with disabilities—and having extra hands (and kind hearts) makes all the difference.

Whether you can come once a week or just every now and then, we would love to have you. You don't need special experience—just patience, kindness, and a willingness to show up.

Volunteers might help with things like:

  • Joining us on community outings
  • Helping with activities like art, fitness, or gardening
  • Supporting life skills like cooking, shopping, or social practice
  • Simply spending time and building connections with our participants

Some of the best moments in our program come from the relationships built between volunteers and participants. It's not just help—it's friendship, encouragement, and community.

If you've ever thought, "I'd love to do something meaningful with my time," this is it.

Come be part of something special.
